Mr. S. Ramamchandran had sent a letter dated 29th July, 2016 addressed to Shri P.S.Jayakumar, MD & CEO of Bank of Baroda on the subject of non-reimbursement of medical bills submitted as per banks circular, which was issued by the bank as per MoU arrived between the bank & UFBU & IBA. Now, due to the untiring efforts of Mr. Ramachandran, the bank has responded positively. Below is a letter dated 21st Nov addressed to chairman of bank of baroda and all the board of directors thanking them for reimbursing the claims of retirees towards domiciliary treatment for the period 1-11-2015 to 31-10-2016 in the context of the insurance company backing out of their their obligation towards such claim.

Subject: LETTER OF THANKS TO THE MEMBERS OF BANK OF BARODA BOARD.
Respected chairman and all the members of the board,
I am in receipt of banks circular NO HO/BR/108/182 dated 19th November,2016,regarding MEDICAL INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT OF DOMICILIARY TREATMENT FOR THE RETIREES FOR THE PERIOD 1-11-2015 TO 31-10-2016 whereby branches have been advised to reimburse the claims of retirees towards domiciliary treatment in the context of the Insurance company backing out of the obligations towards such claims.
I am extremely thankful on behalf of all the Bank of Baroda retirees and myself to the members of the board for their intervention on my repeated representation and make it happen. This is certainly a precedence to other banks where similarly placed retirees are deprived of their legitimate reimbursement.
This brings to the fore the dubious role of IBA in the matter. What they have done is only to do post office job rather than fight for the member banks. It is therefore high time and necessary for banks to come out of the IBA on matters relating to wage, perks and amenities as well as welfare measures.Bank of Baroda has always been in the forefront in such matters in as much as in 2008 ,the bank refused to give mandate to IBA for wage negotiations relating to officers.Picking up the thread,PUNJAB NATIONAL BANK has now talking in the same tone.
I once again thank each and every member of the board for their decision to reimburse the claims of retirees who have given their brain and brawn to the worthy institution -the Bank of Baroda
With Best Regards
S. Ramachandran
